Elite Organic: The holistic wellness brand

Bridges presents an insightful interview with Çağrı Eşmekaya, the visionary CEO of Elite Organic, exploring the brand's ethos, growth, and global aspirations.

Founded in 1998, Elite Organic has transformed into a holistic wellness brand by closely following global trends and evolving consumer needs. With a motto to contribute to people’s healthy living using the healing power of nature, Elite Organic has become a pioneer in organic farming. As the first company in Turkey to receive the organic farming logo from the inspection authority, we continue on our journey. We also hold organic certifications from countries such as the United States, the European Union, Canada, China, and Korea, in addition to Japan. These certifications ensure traceability and sustainability in our products from the field to the bottle.

What are your sustainable farming and production practices?

Today, we contribute to the preservation of our planet and its soil with approximately 8,000 contract farmers working on a total of 766,000 hectares of organic farmland across Turkey. We continue to invest in expanding organic farming areas in our country. With our plantation investments, we aim to cultivate 920,000 organic fruit trees on a 4,000-acre area. We have taken the first step with the transfer of 609,451.68 square meters in Adana Yumurtalık. In our plantation area, we will use drip irrigation techniques for more efficient water usage. This will prevent water evaporation and ensure the trees receive the necessary amount of water, reducing carbon emissions and water consumption, contributing to nature.

As Elite Organic, we support our farmer families in all processes. Our agricultural engineers spend more than 110 hours a year on innovations in organic farming, especially the importance of organic farming, the care, processing and harvesting of organically grown products, the use of technological and traditional agricultural tools according to fruits and vegetables, to our farmers who farm with the experience of their ancestors and have problems in accessing information. We provide training on water maintenance, hydroponic and soilless agricultural technologies.

We also provide support to farmers for all costs from seeds to fertilizers, and we distribute an average of 225 tons of organic fertilizer to farmers each year after processing fruits and vegetables in our factory. For different organic fruits and vegetables and for the sensitive issue of pest control, we supply pesticide-free plant-based agricultural mixtures to support their production.

We utilize production waste as fertilizer and in innovative product development in our R&D studies. We work with suppliers who produce environmentally friendly packaging with calculated recycling rates. With all these efforts and our plantation investment, we have come a few steps closer to our carbon-neutral goal.
