Stine L. Guldmann, the Commissioner General for Denmark’s participation in the Osaka Expo, has highlighted the historical importance of world exhibitions, likening them to the “Olympics of economics, innovations and culture.”

“In Denmark, especially, we excel at digitalizing the public sector, and we are currently knowledge sharing with Japan not withstanding what impact is has within our healthcare sector,” she explained.

The importance of public-private collaboration in healthcare is crucial, and Denmark aims to share its expertise in this area.

Celebrating Denmark’s Expo National Day

Denmark’s National Day at the Expo is set for April 24, coinciding with a visit from H.M. the King of Denmark, adding a layer of significance to the celebrations. During this day, Denmark will spotlight its commitment to sustainability and collaboration, particularly within healthcare, green technology, and food sectors.

Guldmann pointed out Denmark’s strengths in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical technology, all of which will be prominently featured.

The longstanding diplomatic and trade relations between Denmark and Japan, spanning 158 years, will be further reinforced at the Expo. Guldmann noted a growing interest in Japanese culture among Danes, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We share a passion for innovation, sustainability, and quality of life, which aligns with the central themes of this Expo,” she stated.

The presence of prominent Danish officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Industry, Business, and Financial Affairs, and the Minister of Food, Agriculture, and Fisheries, underscores the importance of this event in fostering Denmark-Japan relations.
