Japan – Morocco: An Expanding Economic Partnership Oriented Towards Africa

Bridges partners with INDUSTRICOM Group

INDUSTRICOM Group has been supporting Morocco’s dynamic industrial and economic development since 2013.

The group has combined a passion for communication and innovation, operating in key sectors such as business press, events, technology and digital marketing.

In a constantly changing world, where technological, economic, and geopolitical shifts are constantly redefining the rules, INDUSTRICOM Group has chosen to anticipate these transformations rather than undergo them.

It’s not just about supporting change, but also driving it, making it a lever for growth. Thanks to strategic investments in digital, influencer networks, and events, the Group has managed to generate more than 5 million monthly impacts, demonstrating an ability to act and influence positively.

INDUSTRICOM Group provides partners with a comprehensive ecosystem: influence and lobbying tools, cutting-edge technologies, and communication solutions to address the challenges of their visibility and external perception.

Much more than just a collection of companies, INDUSTRICOM Group is a committed community dedicated to innovation and the creation of solutions tailored to specific needs.

With a commitment to excellence, a spirit of innovation and support for the economy, and more particularly for Moroccan industry, the Group continues to effectively support partners and aim ever higher.

For several decades, Japan has maintained strong and steadily growing economic relations with Morocco. Early diplomatic recognition, the conclusion of bilateral investment agreements and tax conventions, as well as the active cooperation of JICA and JBIC, have laid the foundations for a serious and well-structured partnership.

Bilateral trade, still modest in volume, is gradually gaining momentum: Japanese exports to Morocco are focused on machinery, transport equipment, and automobiles, while Moroccan exports primarily fisheries and agri-food products—are gaining greater visibility in the Japanese market.

The memorandums signed in 2024 to encourage investment illustrate the shared determination to deepen this relationship.

Within this context, the Moroccan group INDUSTRICOM plays a strategic role as a catalyst. Through Industrie du Maroc Magazine (print and digital), its digital platforms, social media networks, and IDM Magazine TV channel, it highlights the opportunities offered by the Moroccan economy and its high-potential sectors.

More than just a source of information, it acts as a facilitator, connecting Moroccan decision-makers with international investors, including many Japanese stakeholders.

INDUSTRICOM also distinguishes itself through the organization of forums, conferences, and sector-specific missions, which foster direct and productive exchanges.

One notable example is an automotive mission, carried out in collaboration with JETRO Rabat, AMICA, and AMDIE, which illustrates the ability of such initiatives to strengthen the confidence of Japanese companies and support their establishment in Morocco.

Finally, Japan–Morocco cooperation today extends beyond the bilateral framework. TICAD 2025 in Yokohama demonstrated the convergence of Japan’s and Morocco’s visions for Africa.

Leveraging its role as a regional hub and gateway to the continent, Morocco has positioned itself as a strategic partner for Tokyo in its ambition to consolidate ties with Africa.

These dynamics paves the way for an expanded partnership, one that holds promise for both nations and for the African continent as a whole.
