What steps is Bangkok Airways taking to deepen connectivity between Thailand and Japan?
Our commitment to strengthening ties with Japan is reflected in our efforts to enhance connectivity between the two nations. While Bangkok Airways currently focuses on regional routes, we actively collaborate with partner airlines through codeshare agreements to offer seamless connections to key Japanese cities. Currently, we have a long-standing codeshare agreement with Japan Airlines (JAL), established in 2012 and expanded in 2014. This partnership enables passengers to book single itineraries for flights operated by both airlines, connecting key Japanese cities such as Tokyo (Narita and Haneda) and Osaka with Bangkok Airways’ popular beach destinations such as Koh Samui, Trat or cultural heritage destinations like Sukhothai. By offering seamless travel options and promoting tourism between the two nations, we actively strengthen cultural and economic ties.
How does Bangkok Airways support Thailand’s efforts to position itself as a global medical and wellness destination?
Bangkok Airways is a proud supporter of Thailand’s global positioning as a premier medical and wellness destination. Our network connects travelers to cities like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Koh Samui, renowned for their world-class medical facilities, luxury wellness retreats, and holistic tourism experiences. To complement this focus, our lounges and in-flight services offer wellness-inspired features such as healthy dining options. Furthermore, we partner with tourism boards and wellness organizations to promote Thailand as a haven for health-conscious and wellness-seeking travelers.
What are Bangkok Airways’ future aspirations, and how do you see the airline evolving?
Bangkok Airways aims to reinforce its role as a leading regional airline by expanding its network and deepening strategic alliances like our codeshare agreement with Japan Airlines. Sustainability is also a core focus, as we continue adopting environmentally friendly practices and exploring ways to reduce our carbon footprint. As travel trends evolve, we remain committed to innovation, customer-centricity, and supporting Thailand’s tourism industry, particularly its emerging wellness and cultural sectors. Our vision is to remain a bridge connecting people and destinations while driving positive change in aviation and beyond.
Looking ahead, Bangkok Airways is focused on expanding its network, strengthening regional partnerships and adopting more sustainable practices. As the travel industry evolves, Bangkok Airways remains dedicated to enhancing the passenger experience—from the moment travelers step into its lounges to their arrival in Thailand. With a clear direction for their future, Bangkok Airways continues to connect people and places with its signature boutique charm.
