MPStore: Building a people-focused economic ecosystem

As an archipelago, Indonesia is well-known for its strong regional connections, close social ties and national wide transportation networks designed to bring people together.

The Indonesian economy is expanding rapidly. Today, sixty percent of Indonesia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is based on the activities of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

With a population of approximately 280 million, there are no signs of the economy slowing down.

Warung Economics

A ‘Warung’ is a small family-owned business in Indonesia (retail, eatery, café). Over the years, these have become an essential part of daily life in Indonesia.

Retail challenges:

– 20% of Indonesians shop online and this number is increasing. Traditional merchants are switching to digital solutions.

– 65% of traditional trade channels cannot develop due to technological constraints. As modern trade begins to take market share, small business owners require financing to scale their business.

Our goal is to support store owners across the country and help them scale their businesses.

– 83% of the country’s ATM facilities are concentrated in the larger cities across the island of Java, Indonesia. There is huge banking transaction potential in rural areas.

With robust performance, recognitions and awards, the company’s application: MPStore, is set to drive change and disrupt the Indonesian retail market.

Key to the company’s success is the strong relationships it has formed with shop owners in Indonesia and these are continuing to fuel the company’s growth while supporting small-business economics.

MPStore: Going Global

While the company is focused on serving the Indonesian market – specifically the island of Java – Muidz has his sights set on markets across Southeast Asia.

“We want to establish the company in Indonesia and position ourselves for further growth and investment having recently listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange,” says Muidz.

“In the future, we will look at the opportunities in Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and India as we reach out to markets around the world.”
