Mobile, modular and rapidly deployable clean energy is no longer a future concept. It is a real-world solution developed by TEASK, a Malaysia-based clean energy company focused on delivering fast, reliable power to underserved communities and industries. Chief Visionary Officer James Anthony Tan and Chief Operating Officer Kiu Yik Khong provide insights into TEASK’s mission to expand access to clean, mobile power.
Bridges: In what ways is TEASK contributing to Society 5.0 through your efforts in environmental innovation and fostering social collaboration?
At TEASK, we believe energy is not just a utility — it’s a right. In the spirit of Society 5.0, we’re fusing advanced technology with deep social empathy to decentralize power — literally and figuratively. We are building mobile, modular clean energy stations that empower micromobility, agricultural robotics and rural electrification. Our systems operate independently or in harmony with the grid, enabling rapid deployment where the grid fails or never existed.
At TEASK, we believe energy is not just a utility — it’s a right.
We’re not just innovating for convenience — we’re innovating for resilience, dignity and access. Society 5.0 is not a future we wait for; it’s one we build, station by station.
How is TEASK leveraging its technologies and expertise to support the development of sustainable communities?
TEASK’s core innovation is what we call Dynamic Infrastructure — agile, solar-powered microgrids that move where the need is greatest. Our stations are deployable in under 30 minutes, require minimal civil works and are equipped with IoT-integrated battery management systems and adaptive inverters. This isn’t just about hardware — it’s about design philosophy.
Our approach is modular, stackable and human-centric. Whether it’s electrifying farming drones in paddy fields or powering delivery EVs in urban alleys, TEASK adapts to the rhythm of the people. Sustainability without accessibility is a half-solution — we’re solving for both.
Along TEASK’s journey, how have partnerships with local communities, academic institutions and government agencies helped drive meaningful, systemic change?
We stand on the shoulders of giants.
TEASK’s work has been shaped and accelerated by partners such as MOSTI, MRANTI, MARii, Cyberview, and Cradle Fund, who believed in our mission when it was still a blueprint. In 2024, TEASK was selected as a recipient of Cradle’s CIP Spark grant. Through the Cyberview Living Lab Accelerator, we tested real-world use cases, while MOSTI and MRANTI helped position us nationally and globally.
TEASK has been selected by MOSTI, through MRANTI, as one of eight Malaysian companies to represent Malaysia at Expo 2025 Osaka Kansia, Japan.
We’ve also partnered with Leave a Nest — an ecosystem we deeply admire — to tap into Japan’s Society 5.0 vision and its spirit of science for social good. These partnerships have connected us to researchers, rural councils and international thought leaders.
This isn’t just innovation. It’s systemic evolution, powered by collaboration.
Our philosophy is simple: If you want to go fast, build alone. If you want to go far, build together.
What types of partnerships is TEASK seeking to further its mission, and how can regional or global stakeholders get involved in creating impact together?
We’re looking for builders of the future — partners who see infrastructure not as fixed steel and concrete, but as living, breathing ecosystems. Whether you’re a battery innovator, an agricultural AI developer or a mobility platform, we welcome collaborators who share our vision of democratized energy.
We’re also seeking public sector allies and financial partners who believe in investing not just in returns but in revolutions.
To regional and global actors: Don’t wait for the world to change. Help us build the scaffolding of the new one.
Here’s our truth: We don’t fear the unknown — we build the tools to face it. TEASK exists to spark energy where others see darkness, to bring motion where others stand still. We are not here to plug into the system. We are here to rewire it.
Let the future be bold, let it be just — and let it be powered by all of us.
