Unleash Potential

RGF Professional Recruitment Japan is committed to providing market-leading bilingual talent for specialist and managerial positions.

Bridges spoke with Benjamin Cordier, managing director of RGF Professional Recruitment Japan on the job-rich, candidate-short Japanese employment market.

RGF Professional Recruitment Japan is extremely successful in a highly competitive industry. What solutions do you deliver that sets you apart from the rest?

RGF Professional Recruitment Japan is part of the bilingual recruitment arm of Recruit Group, Asia’s largest recruiting and information Service Company. We partner with both multinational companies and domestic businesses with a global outlook to provide market-leading bilingual talent for specialist and managerial positions.

As part of the Recruit brand, the largest recruiting and information Service Company in Asia and the third largest in the world, we are able to attract top-notch candidates domestically and internationally, from across all industries.

Our network of offices across 17 cities in Asia gives us access to high level ‘returnee’ Japanese candidates who are typically challenging to locate and identify. We have access to our own industry-leading database of bilingual talent; one of the largest active bilingual databases in the region

Following the pandemic, do you see the recruitment industry changing and what opportunities do you see in Japan for RGF?

In Japan there have been several ‘quasi’ states of emergency and the cases are currently low. The recruitment industry is cautiously optimistic in its recovery and Japan remains a job-rich and candidate-short market, in particular for bilingual candidates.

Leveraging the power of the Recruit brand and network we are in a unique position to continue to serve our clients and candidates in Japan as well as supporting companies entering the Japan market.

Japan will continue to face demographic challenges with its shrinking work population in the years to come and we look forward to continuing to support our clients to hire the best bilingual talent in this competitive market.

Our short-term goal is to be the number one recruitment company in Asia and our long-term goal is to be recognized globally as an excellent company. We will achieve this through sustainable growth driven by operational excellence.

Having won several awards and with a strong reputation in Japan, what is the next step for RGF?

RGF is a part of Recruit and although RGF is one of Asia’s leading companies in the HR industry, we have yet to reach Recruit’s market standing in Japan. Compared to Recruit, we still have a long way to go. Recruit is currently known throughout Japan as one of the best recruitment and information services companies.

Our short-term goal is to be the number one recruitment company in Asia and our long-term goal is to be recognized globally as an excellent company. We will achieve this through sustainable growth driven by operational excellence.

What message do you have regarding the company’s continued commitment to serving the business community in Japan?

“Unleash Potential of every individual talent, every employer, and each one of us, while being a bridge to a better world in Asia and throughout the globe.” This is our vision and our commitment to the business community in Japan.
