Filipinos are internationally renowned for their warm, resilient smiles, which symbolize kindness, hospitality, and a deep-seated optimism, often rooted in faith and community.
This ‘land of smiles’ culture reflects an ability to find joy and hope in daily life.
Dr. Samuel M. Noordhoff
Dr. Samuel M. Noordhoff, a renowned American missionary doctor and surgeon, founded the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation (NCF) in Taiwan in 1989 as a non-profit organization to help cleft patients who could not afford complete and best treatment.
Beginning in 1999, the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation began expanding its operations from Taiwan to the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam and China.
Teams of dedicated professionals in these developing countries were trained and became the seed doctors of the NCF-inspired organizations in their respective countries. NCF continues to expand their reach to ensure the best possible care for each child in Asia and beyond.

Committed to delivering accessible patient-centered care
Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation Philippines, Inc. (NCFPI) is the only organization in the Philippines providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary, continuing care for patients with cleft and craniofacial anomalies, particularly for indigent Filipinos.

Vision: A society where every Filipino deserves a smile.
Mission: NCFPI provides comprehensive, compassionate, and interdisciplinary cleft and craniofacial care for Filipinos, achieved by providing suitable and up-to-date training and resources to all stakeholders of its craniofacial centers.
NCFPI runs and manages two centers in Luzon; Our Lady of Peace Craniofacial Center and the Smile Train Craniofacial Center.
The organization continues to expand its reach with NCF Mindanao, led by Dr. Dax Carlo Pascasio (Plastic Surgery), with operations in Davao and Ozamiz (in partnership with Tobias Faith General Hospital).

Help a child to grow, smile, and thrive
For a child born with a cleft, treatment does not end with a single surgery. Comprehensive cleft care often spans 18 years, requiring multiple operations, dental and orthodontic treatment, speech therapy, and psychosocial support. With partners and sponsorship, NCFPI can make this long journey possible, helping each patient receive the complete care they need to grow, smile, and thrive.
