Published in partnership with the ports of the French Riviera and Monaco Ports, ‘Best of Yachting’ is the official guide to leading regional ports

Published in partnership with the ports of the French Riviera and Monaco Ports, ‘Best of Yachting’ is the official guide to the following ports: Monaco, (Hercule, Fontvieille, Cala del Forte in Ventimiglia) – Beaulieu-sur-Mer – Villeneuve-Loubet – Golfe-Juan – Mandelieu-la-Napoule – The Antibes edition highlights the Ports Vauban, International Yacht Club d’Antibes (Quai des Milliardaires) and Gallice, as well as nearby companies.

This collection of six annual Marina guides highlighting port services and their specific advantages, as well as local nautical professionals who can respond to requests from yachtsmen and professionals on board who need their specific services.

Best of Yachting stands out by offering an optimal visibility to yachting companies according to their geographical area, offering crew members and private yacht users a panel of companies specialized to their needs, located close to their port of call.

“Our expertise lies in highlighting port services and those of yachting companies through useful, original information and articles of interest to yacht users, so that they can easily find practical solutions for their yachting needs on the spot,” says Sophie.

Our work is appreciated both by our partner ports and by readers and users; whether for the Metropole Nice Cote D’Azur

The Port Guide remains on board vessels as a valuable information tool, wherever the boat is in the world and can be consulted upon arrival at the port of call all year round.

Services for Ports and Marinas

The guides highlight the latest developments, projects, services, teams, reception arrangements, prices and advantages. Each comes in a print and digital version, in French and English and are designed in line with the colors of each port and include an integrated map of the port.

“Our experience in producing our guides has been proven every year since 2015,” says Sophie. “Our work is appreciated both by our partner ports and by readers and users; whether for the Metropole Nice Cote D’Azur, the Official Guide to the Port of Beaulieu-sur-Mer, the company Sodeport, the Official Guide to the Marina of Baie-des-Anges in Villeneuve-Loubet, the Port of Mandelieu-la-Napoule and Monsieur Rayon for the Port Camille Rayon in Golfe-Juan, and more recently the Société d’Exploitation des Ports de Monaco (SEPM), the Official Guide to the Ports of Monaco.”

“Our objective, in a future that will depend on opportunities and proposals, is to offer marinas located outside the Côte d’Azur and the Principality our service by developing a Brand Licence which could be offered to any company or person wishing to develop the ‘Best of Yachting’ brand for their own account.”

Monaco Ports Official Guide

Thanks to the originality of its concept, in 2022, ‘Best of Yachting’ became the Official Guide to the Ports of Monaco and Cala del Forte (Ventimiglia) on behalf of the Société des Ports de Monaco. First published as two separate guides, with the Guide to the Ports of Monaco on the one hand and the Guide to the new Cala del Forte port on the other (new port of the Société d’Exploitation des Ports de Monaco), the 2023 edition gave birth to the new Official Guide to the Ports of Monaco, bringing together the three ports of the SEPM.

The Monegasque edition of the Best of Yachting is hand-delivered directly to yachtsmen, captains and crews during the Grand Prix at the end of May and distributed in the captaincies of the Ports of Hercules, Fontvieille and Cala del Forte within the prestigious Yacht Club of Monaco, of which the Cluster (its private club of yachting companies) has been a fervent supporter since the first edition.

Monaco Ports Official Guide – ‘Best of Yachting’ (3,000 published copies per year) is distributed in high season (until the end of October/November) on yachts over 30 meters, in Hercule, Fontvieille and Cala del Forte (Ventimiglia, Italy) and is distributed throughout the year in harbor master’s offices.

“I would like to thank Mr. Olivier Lavagna, General Manager of the Societe d’Exploitation des Ports de Monaco – thanks to whom the Official Guide to the Ports of Monaco Best of yachting is a success,” says Sophie.

“The Société d’Exploitation des Ports de Monaco is active in the effective realization of all its projects, the implementation of continuous improvement actions for its yachtsmen and the design of concrete projects related to the protection of the marine environment.”

“The organization has enriched the Official Guide to the Ports of Monaco ‘Best of Yachting’ by providing relevant, original and meaningful content for their yachtsmen and crew members, regulars and newcomers.”

Far from a simple announcement or a presence in a directory, ‘Best of Yachting’ highlights the establishment according to its geographical area and will continue to exclusively represent companies from the Principality for the Monegasque edition.

Sophie Mordelet

With a degree in Journalism, Sophie Mordelet discovered the written and audiovisual press and then obtained a degree in Communication and Press Relations at the International Institute of Communication in Paris.

“Fascinated by this field of professional activities which requires a quick understanding of communication issues, a spirit of synthesis and a facility to put forward the skills of my interlocutors, I learned a lot within event communication agencies between Paris and Toulouse as a Press Attaché,” says Sophie. “Then I created my own small company in Toulouse in 2001 and set out to conquer new horizons in Nice without abandoning my clients who follow me faithfully.”

In 2015, with the help of SG COM, a Cannes publishing agency run by Sophie’s life partner Georges Lacombe and father of her 11-year-old daughter, she decided to launch her own book collection.

“The idea was to focus on the local yachting and economic actors to highlight their services, products and their performance in the eyes of their target customers: boat and yacht owners, occasional or resident users and crew members including Captains. The first edition was launched in Antibes; a city of yachting par excellence.”

Today, the collection has been expanded. Each port within the collection has its own edition which has become; ‘The Official Port Guide’ promoting the activities of its port teams and its services to those arriving by sea.

Best of Women in Yachting

The ‘Best of Yachting’ collection also publishes ‘Best of Women in Yachting’. This magazine is dedicated to the promotion of Women in Yachting and Maritime in Monaco and includes the sponsorship of WISTA International, WISTA Monaco – Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association – and its brand new Yachting Committee in Monaco during the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show.

The magazine will include 30 women who are active in the Principality’s Yachting and Maritime sector, with strong, emblematic and striking professional backgrounds, as Directors, Heads of their department in the Yachting and Maritime sectors.

The magazine showcases the position of these women and their companies, not only locally but also beyond Monaco’s borders.
