Warner Bros. Movie World: Where Hollywood Magic Meets Gold Coast Sunshine

By CLAIRE CELDRAN

If you’re planning a family getaway and want to make it unforgettable, Warner Bros. Movie World on the Gold Coast is a must. Whether you’re a die-hard superhero fan or just someone looking for fun with the kids, this theme park has something for everyone.

I recently went with my two teenagers, and let me tell you, it’s the kind of day that leaves you talking about it for weeks. From high-speed coasters to live action shows and all the movie magic in between, Movie World truly brings your favorite characters and stories to life.

For the Thrill-Seekers: Epic Rollercoasters You Can’t Miss

We started our day with an adrenaline rush – and while a few of the major rides like the DC Rivals HyperCoaster, Superman Escape, and Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster were temporarily closed for maintenance during our visit, it didn’t dampen our experience at all.

In fact, we ended up riding the Green Lantern Coaster over and over again – its twisted drops and sharp turns quickly became a favorite for all of us. The Wild West Falls Adventure Ride was another highlight, giving us a wet and wild escape into cowboy territory. If you’re planning a visit, it’s a good idea to check the ride maintenance schedule on their website so you can plan your day around what’s open.

Live Shows and the Marvelous Parade

One of the best moments of the day was catching the Star Parade down Main Street. Even if you’re not a massive DC fan, seeing Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, and even the Looney Tunes crew come to life in a full-on character parade is magical. Everyone was waving, dancing, and posing for photos—it felt like a scene straight out of Hollywood.

We also watched the Hollywood Stunt Driver 2 show, and it blew us away. Think explosions, car chases, and movie-style action stunts all happening right in front of you. My teens were glued to every second of it.

A Magical Surprise: The Wizard of Oz World

One of the biggest highlights for me personally was stepping into the brand new Wizard of Oz precinct. It genuinely felt like we’d been transported into the Land of Oz. You walk through the Yellow Brick Road, pass through Munchkinland, and into the Emerald City—complete with themed buildings, characters, and music that made me feel like Dorothy herself.

There are two exciting new coasters in this area:

Flight of the Wicked Witch, a flying coaster that twists and turns through Oz like you’re being chased through the sky.

Kansas Twister, a thrilling dueling coaster where two tracks race each other in a heart-racing loop.

This new area is a must-visit – colorful, immersive, and totally unique.

Food, Photos, and Family Time

We refueled at Gotham City Café and grabbed churros near the Looney Tunes area. Everything is themed, which adds to the immersive experience. There are also Fast Track passes to help skip the long lines and photo passes that let you download all your ride photos for the day – perfect for capturing those candid screams!

One Day Isn’t Enough

By the end of the day, we were exhausted but grinning from ear to ear. Warner Bros. Movie World gave us adventure, laughs, thrills, and magical moments all in one. Whether you’re chasing the rush of a rollercoaster, dancing with Bugs Bunny, or skipping down the Yellow Brick Road, it’s an experience that brings movie moments to life and creates memories your family will talk about long after the credits roll.
