Nyland: Most tourists feel energized after visiting Bergen, and they wish they had more time to spend here.

What is the biggest draw and reasons why tourists visit Bergen?

Bergen is the vibrating urban heart in the world-famous Norwegian fjord region. People from all over the world come to Bergen to experience great food, spectacular nature, rich culture and last, but not least, the old wharf which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

If a tourist were to visit Norway for just one day – what itinerary would you recommend including gastronomic suggestions?

A tourist should not visit Norway for just one day. Short stays are not sustainable.

People from all over the world come to Bergen to experience great food, spectacular nature, rich culture and last, but not least, the old wharf which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

We had 19.354 registered japanese guest nights in Bergen in 2019.

What are some recent additions and trends being offered to visitors of Bergen?

In recent years, there has been established several new and very exciting restaurants in Bergen. The city is a UNESCO City of Gastronomy. Especially when it comes to seafood, we have lots of exciting offers. In addition, both the Ulriksbanen cable car and the Fløibanen furnicurlar have received new carriages.
