Since its establishment in Singapore in 1959, JETRO has served as a bridge between the companies of the two countries. Because of this, we have established a solid reputation in both the Japanese and Singaporean business communities.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 last year, business between the two countries has moved towards an online style and although doing business online is convenient and efficient, it is only possible if there is trust between the two sides.
The economies of Japan and Singapore are complementary in many areas. In collaboration with Enterprise Singapore (ESG), Economic Development Board (EDB), Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Singapore Business Federation (SBF), etc., JETRO Singapore supports the following:
- Japanese technology-based companies entering the Singapore market.
- Japanese quality-food exports.
- Singaporean technology companies entering the Japanese market.
- Innovation tie-ups between Japanese and Singaporean companies in Singapore.
While business persons are still not free to move between the two countries, JETRO is — and will be — playing a catalytic role and ensuring mutual ‘trust’ enables all parties to carry out their business in an effective manner.
