\u201cStarting the company was moved by several reasons,\u201d Sousa said. \u201cBut above all, I decided to take the op\u00adportunity and risk of creating a busi\u00adness based on my incredible learning experience I had in the U.K.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That decision positioned DHW at the crossroads of innovation and strategic partnership. Representing leading global companies such as Altera and Maxim elevated the firm\u2019s credibility \u2014 leading to its acquisi\u00adtion by Japanese technology group Macnica in 2012. \u201cHaving worked un\u00adder the trust of great companies was crucial for DHW to become visible to Macnica,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The acquisition marked a turning point. With Macnica\u2019s backing, the Brazilian company became a regional leader not only in semiconductor distribution, but also in end-to-end solutions across artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and edge tech\u00adnologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe became larger, more relevant and impactful in the electronics industry market,\u201d Sousa said. \u201cWe\u2019re expanding our role from a semicon\u00adductor distributor to a broader solu\u00adtions provider \u2014 an enabler for any market that uses technology.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macnica DHW now serves as In\u00adtel\u2019s center of excellence for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing in Latin America. Its initiatives extend from smart-city applications to industrial automation and precision agriculture \u2014 sup\u00adporting both corporate strategy and regional development. \u201cWe want to raise awareness of Macnica as a key player in disruptive technologies, impacting areas far beyond semicon\u00adductors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equally significant has been the cultural synergy between Brazil and Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn spite of all the differences, we share the same values,\u201d Sousa said. \u201cThe whole relationship with head\u00adquarters was built on trust \u2014 there was a lot of freedom, but account\u00adability, too. It was very rewarding to see how much our local specificities were respected, and how empowered I felt to carry on with my work \u2014 with all the support, but not with interfer\u00adence,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having contributed to Macnica\u2019s strategy in Europe and helping align operations across the Atlantic, Sousa values the company\u2019s global cohe\u00adsion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
