Romanian-Japanese relations were raised to the level of strategic partnership in 2023, and the diplomatic dialogue with the Japanese Embassy in Bucharest, in this sense, was extremely valuable and culminated with the Joint Statement on the Establishment of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and Japan, signed in March, this year. The good practices of Japanese investments in Romania gave us the confidence that our partnership will become stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exchange of success stories between business representatives from both countries, in order to develop projects and partnerships, in industrial and technological areas, will surely strengthen bilateral cooperation. It is with great confidence that I look towards the future of the state of relations between Romania and Japan, this reliance being endorsed by the continuous progress and mutual support over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Albeit the multiple crises of the last two years Romania\u2019s economy has grown constantly, proving to be a safe and secure business environment for entrepreneurs and investors. Thus, trade between our nations thrived in 2023, the total volume of Romania’s trade with Japan was more than 1.2 billion USD (increased by 13,50% compared to 2022) and more than 360 million USD in the first quarter of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wish to develop and strengthen the economic dimension of our partnerships with both traditional and new partners. As such, a key objective of our ministry is to support and increase the level of foreign investments by foreign companies already present in our country \u2013 such as Makita, Hitachi or NTT Data to name but a few of the successful companies with very positive experiences in Romania. And of course, we intend to endorse a fruitful development of new commercial relations between more companies from our countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Romania offers a favorable investment climate with strategic access to the European market. The multiple and complex crises of recent years but also the current geopolitical situation and the conflict caused by Russia’s Illegal aggression on Ukraine forced us all to learn new lessons of cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Romania is the perfect logistics hub for companies that want to be part of the reconstruction process of Ukraine, and it is certainly a destination to consider also in terms of business relocation opportunities from areas that are no longer safe today, due to security or profitability reasons, especially in areas such as the processing industry, agro-industry or the energy sector. Thus, we invite all interested businesses to explore opportunities in sectors such as technology, manufacturing, energy, defense, tourism and infrastructure development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
