As a public institution historically responsible for managing the compulsory social security plan for salaried employees in Morocco’s private sector, CNSS’s mission is of key importance. Its long-term commitment is to continually improve its services and guarantee an increasingly high level of social protection. This citizen-centered vision motivates all CNSS staff to focus their skills and resources on achieving this goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, CNSS benefits from a solid governance structure involving a number of entities. Firstly, a Board of Directors, which has the authority and skills needed to guide CNSS’s actions. It plays an essential role in strategic decision-making. Secondly, a Management and Studies Committee, as well as two Specialized Committees, contribute to the management and in-depth assessment of CNSS’s various activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These entities guarantee rigorous governance and effective supervision of the fund’s activities and ensure that CNSS operates in a transparent and accountable way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 1961 to replace the Caisse d’Aide Sociale originally established in 1942, CNSS has played an essential role in the social protection of private sector work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fund has successfully broadened its scope of operations to meet the changing needs of Moroccan society. By guaranteeing access to healthcare, income security, and generalized medical and social coverage, CNSS remains a major contributor to the country’s social protection system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNSS has been providing its benefits to insured private-sector employees in Morocco and has never ceased to improve the quality of its services, while broadening the spectrum of the population covered, notably by integrating new populations such as fishermen, craftsmen in 2014, and domestic workers in 2019.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n

Currently, CNSS is in charge of providing: family allowances, and short-term benefits including daily allowances payable in the event of illness or accident not governed by the Law on compensation for industrial accidents and occupational illnesses, daily allowances for maternity, allowances upon death, paid parental leave as well as compensation for loss of employment for salaried employees (since 2013). CNSS also provides the following long-term benefits: disability pensions, old-age pensions, survivors’ pensions, and refunds of employee contributions (since 2013).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of 2005, Basic Compulsory Health Insurance \u00ab AMO \u00bb has become CNSS’s most popular service, marking a major turning point in its history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNSS has been providing its benefits to insured private-sector employees in Morocco and has never ceased to improve the quality of its services, while broadening the spectrum of the population covered, notably by integrating new populations such as fishermen, craftsmen in 2014, and domestic workers in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the successful integration of these new categories of insurees, CNSS has earned the trust of His Majesty King Mohamed VI, may God assist him, who has given his high instructions to launch the project to generalize social and medical coverage, and to this end, CNSS has begun the registration of self-employed workers in 2021, and people unable to pay compulsory health insurance contributions one year after in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to keep pace with its growing activity, CNSS has adopted a strategy of proximity, expanding its coverage throughout the kingdom by creating new regional offices and opening several new branches, as well as cooperating with local networks of partner institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CNSS remains committed to the Moroccan government in carrying out the next stages of the generalization of social protection (generalization of family allowances, compensation for job loss and pension reform) by adapting the administrative, procedural and technical aspects necessary to ensure its implementation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

At the core of CNSS’s strategic vision for the future is its commitment to digital transformation, with the aim of accelerating the transition to paperless services in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this purpose, CNSS has invested heavily in new information technologies. The new information system for the management of medical coverage, known as “SI AMO”, has already proved its effectiveness, helping to increase productivity, improve payment times for benefits, simplify validation procedures, reduce expenses, and combat fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CNSS remains committed to the Moroccan government in carrying out the next stages of the generalization of social protection (generalization of family allowances, compensation for job loss and pension reform) by adapting the administrative, procedural and technical aspects necessary to ensure its implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
