Over the years, the relationship between the Philippines and Japan has only grown stronger and deeper across trade, commerce, tourism, and security. This economic partnership has been the driving force behind many of our most ambitious infrastructure projects, with Japan being the Philippines\u2019 leading source of official development assistance for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have long enjoyed excellent trade relations and business collaboration, making Japan our second largest trading partner and second largest source of investments. Our populations make us highly compatible demographic partners, and cultural exchange between our two peoples continue to bring us closer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the COVID-19 pandemic sent shockwaves throughout the world economy, Japan remained a steady source of support and a reliable ally of the Filipino people, extending a significant grant aid that allowed for the acquisition of urgently needed medical equipment for our frontline health workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In many ways, Japan\u2019s generous support to the Philippines\u2019 socioeconomic development has been unparalleled. Moving forward, the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. is determined to nurture and further develop this enduring bond as we make our way towards sustainable and inclusive growth in the years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
